The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport (DED) in Dehradun, about 250 km away. From Dehradun, one can take a taxi or bus to Gaurikund, the starting point of the trek, or opt for a helicopter service from Phata or Guptkashi.
The nearest railway stations are Rishikesh (215 km) and Haridwar (240 km). From these stations, direct buses or taxis are available to Gaurikund, which is the base for the Kedarnath trek.
Kedarnath is not directly accessible by road. The last motorable point is Gaurikund. From major cities like Dehradun, Rishikesh, or Haridwar, one can hire a taxi or take a bus to Gaurikund. The remaining 18 km journey to the temple must be covered by trek, pony, or palanquin (doli).
