Gopedia is an independent travel guide and hotel directory. This page explains where our content comes from, how it is checked, and what we do and do not let money influence.
How places get on Gopedia
Destinations, hotels, and things to do are suggested by travellers, by property owners, and by our own team. Every new place is reviewed by our team before it appears on the site. We check that it exists, is in the right location, and is not a duplicate of something already listed, and we reject submissions that do not meet that bar.
How guides are written
Destination and hotel pages are written and edited by our team. We use AI tools to help draft some destination and hotel details, such as summaries and lists of things to see. A person on our team reads and edits every AI-assisted draft and decides whether to publish it; nothing drafted this way goes live on its own.
Blog posts
Anyone with a Gopedia account can write a blog post. Posts are published only after our team has reviewed them, and when an author edits a published post, the changes are reviewed again. Each post shows the name of the person who wrote it, and the views in it are the author's own.
Updates from hotel owners
The owner of a listed hotel can update its details and photos from their own hotel page, and those updates appear straight away. We may correct or remove anything that is inaccurate or misleading. Photos that come from guests' reviews are marked "Traveller" so you can tell them apart from the owner's own photos.
Photos
Photos are uploaded by contributors and property owners, or chosen by our team. Some come from free photo libraries such as Unsplash and Pexels and are used under their licences.
Money and independence
We do not accept payment for listings, for where a place appears in our lists, or for reviews. Lists such as trending destinations are ordered by our own ranking, never by payment. If we ever publish sponsored content or show advertising, it will be clearly labelled and kept separate from our guides, and advertisers will have no say over what we write.
Accuracy and corrections
Prices, timings, and availability change, so please confirm the details that matter to you before you book. If you spot something wrong, tell us through the contact page (choose "Hotel or listing correction") or email gopediabusiness@gmail.com, and we will check it and fix it.
