The nearest airport is Shillong Airport (Umroi), about 30 km away, with limited flights. The major airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) in Guwahati, Assam, approximately 120 km from Shillong. Taxis and shared cabs are readily available from Guwahati.
The nearest major railway station is Guwahati Railway Station (GHY), about 100 km away. From Guwahati, one can hire a taxi or take a shared cab/bus to Shillong.
Shillong is well-connected by road to Guwahati and other major cities in Northeast India. Regular state-run and private buses, as well as shared taxis, operate between Guwahati and Shillong. The journey from Guwahati takes approximately 3-4 hours.
